Professional: My name is Kathy Hubbell. I’ve been a public relations consultant for 26 years and am looking forward to various teaching opportunities in my new home in Portland, Oregon’s metro area. I am accredited through PRSA; hold a Bachelor’s in Journalism from the University of Oregon, and a Master’s in Communications Management from Syracuse University. I’m currently at the beginning of a two-year term on the PRSA Board of Directors.
Personal: I’m the proud mother of two grown and married children, a daughter and a son; and the giddy grandmother of three boys. I work in Montana and Oregon, and when I’m at the point where I need the universe righted again, I head for the Oregon Coast. The photo here, however, was taken at the Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau, Alaska, in August of 2007 at the begining of an almost magical fishing trip in Juneau with my brother and sister-in-law.
Thanks in no small part to a long-ago trip on Semester at Sea, Missoula’s wonderful International Choral Festival and a visit to see my son and daughter-in-law when they served a stint in Korea for the Air Force, I’ve traveled to 24 countries, and love international cultural exchanges. Hobbies? I read a lot; love theater and music, hiking and swimming and travel. Hanging out with my grandsons is always high on my list of priorities. I write when I can, and sometimes just like to sit and stare at four walls.
I’ve just moved back to Oregon after more than 24 years in Montana. The photo below is one I took earlier in the summer fom the Blue Mountain Trails south of town, look back north and east at the Missoula Valley. I’m posting it by way of explaining at least part of Missoula’s siren song; leaving is no easy task.
Fortunately, Oregon is every bit as beautiful as I’ve always known, and frequent trips to the coast are now a special delight.

The picture of Montana is gorgeous! I understand why you enjoy the state so much.
